Due to a surge in demand in the 2019 tourist season MackAir decided to add two new aircraft to their existing large fleet, one additional brand new Cessna Caravan EX and a Cessna Citation M2 as the first member their new Executive Jet Family.
MackAir purchased the two additional aircraft from Absolute Aviation. The Citation M2 was officially handed over at a Glitzy function held at Absolute Aviation’s Southern Hangar on Thursday 27 June 2019.
Until recently, commercial operators based in Northern Botswana have been operating Piston or Turbo-Prop Aircraft. MackAir are extremely proud to be the first to operate their very own Light Jet, The Cessna Citation M2 and therefore subsequent launch of a world class, bespoke jet service for their valued clientele. The Citation M2 is a corporate jet which identifies amongst clients for its exceptional cruise speed of in excess of 740km/hr which makes short work of lengthy international distances and cuts layover times to an absolute minimum. The aircraft cruises at up to 41,000 feet, well above the weather, which in addition to the luxurious club seating, cabin layout and Wifi access, makes this a perfect aircraft for an effortless business trip, exquisite safari experience or an absolute pleasure for a quick holiday with the family.
MackAir can now transfer a group of 6 passengers straight off an international flight, Johannesburg to Maun (as an example) in less than an hour and a half, then transition them in Maun on the ground directly onto one of our dedicated brand new Cessna Grand Caravan EX Aircraft - for their last hop to their lodge in one Botswana’s prime safari areas. Additionally, through their new partnership with the Absolute Aviation Group and specifically Absolute Flight Services; they are able to not only offer world class lounge and VIP handling facilities from either OR Tambo, Lanseria or Cape Town Airports in South Africa but this also gives them access to an additional complete suite of world class private jet aircraft, that have the ability to carry anything from 7-14 passengers to their destinations across the African Continent and Indian Ocean Islands.
MackAir are bridging the gaps between tourist destinations, this comes as a result of popular demand and lack of pre existing transport. They are working hard to provide clients a scheduled service between Maun, Botswana and Windhoek, Namibia and hope to launch this service in the very near future.
