With the 2019 season closing in at Secunda 9th and 10th of August 2019, there is some serious competition between the Pilot Insure SPEEDSTERS especially the top 5 sponsored teams on the championship list.
How does the Pilot Insure Speed Rally Work?
It is simple
You need:
- 1 x Aircraft (Any Type - Gyro, Helicopter, Microlight - Trike and Fixed Wing, LSA, Light Aircraft, Twin, Turbine, Jet)
- 1 x Pilot (Valid Licences Pilot)
- 1 x Navigator (Can be your Wife, Son, Daughter or Best Friend or just a Friend or any aviation enthusiasts that wants to get involved)
You get:
- Flight Speed test which will determine your Handicap and take off slot
- Your Pilot Insure Race number designed by Flightline Weekly (THIS IS HANDED TO YOU AT THE FRIDAY NIGHT BRIEFING WITH LIGHTS ACTION CAMERA (LASERS LIGHTS AND SMOKE - PERSONAL VIDEO OF YOUR TEAM) BIG CELEBRATIONS AND GREAT TIME TO GET TO KNOW WHO IS WHO IN THIS ELITE NEW AND EXCITING SPORT)
-20 min before departure you get a pre-printed map with the route on it and all the magnetic headings
-Printed photos of all the turn points
What you need to do:
- PITCH UP AND FLY THE ROUTE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND FLY THE SHORTEST DISTANCE-Ensure that you can prove to the officials that you do not have any GPS equipment on board (in-stalling a video camera to show officials what you are doing is the best way to do this) - Except if you have entered the GPS Section then all you need to do is FLY

CURRENT CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS RANKING
At time of Print the Championship Leaders Leon and Martin are still securing their Team Sponsor-ship and Stand a very good chance of winning the PILOT INSURE 2019 SPEED RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS
However, there are some serious Sponsored Teams that are breathing down their necks, PILOTS POST RACE TEAM - Mary and Phil are in second place and have been a serious team to contend with, they two have a great chance of winning this championship.
In Third place we have The Airplane Factory SLING RACING TEAM - David and James that have had an exceptional season and stand a chance to win the championships however we are now moving into a group that needs the top two to make a small mistake for the remaining teams of
PILOT INSURE TEAM of Jonty and a his Son Jonathan only 100 points behind the leaders. The privately funded team of Johan and Cor are also on the heels of the top four.
That said there are Serious Teams breathing down the neck of the top Speedsters for Example the PROMPT ROOFING TEAM of Leon and Sandi and the
BEEGLE MICRO TRACKERS TEAM of Quintin and Johan have only raced 2 races and are in a great position and upset the applecart if they WIN or even place in the top ten for the Finale the next Pilot Insure Speed Rally.
Then we have the Mach 1 Flying school that have gone from strength to strength with their eight teams, how the skill level has improved is Epic and are in a position to do really well.
Not forgetting all the other Speedsters that have proven to be exceptionally good and all have the opportunity to upset the standings and final results.
There are three father and Son teams that have challenged each other, competition is tight with Hendrik and Son Jeandre, who still have to beat Johan and Son Quintin and Jonty and Son Jonathan currently Jonty and Jonathan have won once as did Johan and Quintin.
The build up to this FINALE is SOMETHING not to be missed.
