Woderboom Airport Interest Group (WAIG) win the case against City of Tshwane

The High Court, Pretoria granted an interim interdict in favour of WAIG in terms whereof, the appointment of Ntiyiso Consulting (Pty) Ltd as transaction advisor to the city was suspended.

This order has the implication that Ntiyiso Consulting (Pty) Ltd are prohibited from acting as airport manager in the interim.

The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality was further directed to appoint and employ, within 15 (fifteen) days of the order, a properly qualified airport manager that can run the entire operational function of the Wonderboom Airport.

WAIG and its members welcome this decision by the Court. This is a step in the right direction to ensure that the Airport is managed in an efficient manner and to the benefit of the tenants of the Wonderboom Airport, the citizens of Tshwane and all ratepayers and taxpayers within Tshwane.

WAIG and its members would like to this opportunity to thank its legal team (Jacques Classen & Associates Attorneys together with Thys Strydom (our senior Advocate)) for their effort in securing this order.

We sincerely hope that this judgement will be a turning point for the once proud airport and that a new airport manager and his team will once again bring stability and sensibility to the embattled airport.
