Final Gulfstream G650 Rolls off the Production Line

Gulfstream Aerospace just wrapped up production on the last Gulfstream G650. Now, this plane's off to the next stage at Gulfstream's Appleton, Wisconsin spot, getting all set for its big delivery to a customer later this year.

“Since their inception, the G650 and G650ER have become the industry standard that all others have followed, recently surpassing a staggering 1 million flight hours,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “Beyond the program’s innumerable accolades and 125+ world speed records, innovations introduced with the form, fit and precision manufacturing process of the G650 laid the groundwork for today’s next-generation Gulfstream fleet.”

Back in 2014, Gulfstream snagged the Robert J. Collier Trophy for their G650 business jet family, marking a new chapter in business aviation with its top-notch performance, safety, and efficiency. This aircraft lineup has pulled off some impressive records, like a 2015 world trip with just one stop. In 2019, the G650ER made the longest and fastest business jet flight ever from Singapore to Tucson, Arizona. It was also the go-to plane for the 2019 “One More Orbit” mission, which got a Guinness World Record for the quickest trip around Earth over both the north and south poles.

“While this will be the final G650 produced, the fleet’s high utilization and dispatch reliability mean these aircraft will serve customers for decades to come. As with any Gulfstream aircraft completing production, our Customer Support and program management teams will continue to research, develop and deploy advanced technologies and upgrades for retrofit, such as Honeywell Primus Epic Block 3, announced last July, and Starlink high-speed internet, announced in October,” Burns said.

The legendary aircraft lineup is still going strong in Gulfstream’s flight and sustainability tests. With Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, this aircraft was the trailblazer for the industry’s first flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in 2022.

The brand-new Gulfstream G800 is here to take over from the legendary G650 family, offering better performance, efficiency, and cabin comfort. This jet is a powerhouse, flying 8,000 nautical miles (14,816 kilometres) at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nautical miles (12,964 kilometres) at Mach 0.90. It's got Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and Gulfstream’s cool high-speed wing and winglet. The G800 also comes with the award-winning Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck and the new Combined Vision System (CVS) to help pilots stay aware. It can seat up to 19 people and has up to four living areas or three with a crew spot. The FAA is expected to give it the green light in the first half of 2025.
