First Outfitted Gulfstream G800 Takes Flight

Gulfstream Aerospace revealed that the Gulfstream G800, specifically designated for testing the cabin interior, has successfully completed its maiden flight. This testing phase aims to confirm the cabin design and performance of the industry's aircraft with the longest range, concentrating on the overall passenger experience to guarantee interior comfort and dependability.

The initial outfitted G800 took off on Wednesday, Nov. 27, flying for 1 hour and 41 minutes, achieving an altitude of 46,000 feet and a maximum speed of Mach 0.91. This aircraft joins two other test models in the advanced certification program and will be subjected to tests involving repeated operations of all systems across various flight phases and missions, including overnight trips, as well as scenarios involving hot and cold weather and turbulence.

The G800 boasts various cabin features, such as a new ultra galley offering ample counter space, refrigeration, accessories, and storage. It includes a beverage maker, a range of cooking appliances, and a dedicated crew compartment. The cabin can be arranged into four living areas and can seat up to 19 passengers, with sleeping accommodations for up to 10.

The G800 is the Gulfstream aircraft with the longest range ever created, able to travel 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. It boasts the best fuel efficiency and lowest carbon footprint in its category. Due to the similarities within the Gulfstream next-generation fleet, the G800 benefits from and expands upon the comprehensive flight test program of the recently certified Gulfstream G700.

The G800 offers the Gulfstream Cabin Experience, featuring 100% fresh air that is never recirculated and purified by a plasma ionization clean air system. It boasts the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation, exceptionally quiet sound levels, and illumination from 16 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, which are the largest in the industry.

The G800 also features the acclaimed Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck, which includes the industry's first active control sidesticks and the most comprehensive use of touch-screen technology. Additionally, the aircraft is equipped with the new Combined Vision System (CVS), incorporating both Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) images on the dual head-up display (dual HUD) to enhance pilot situational awareness and safety.
