Gulfstream G500 and G600 Each Exceed 100,000 Flight Hours

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has proudly announced the clean-sheet Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 have each surpassed 100,000 flight hours.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada engines, both aircraft feature the award-winning Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck, with safety-enhancing technology, including the industry’s first active control sidesticks and the most extensive use of touch-screen technology, along with Phase-of-Flight intelligence. Both aircraft are recognized for their industry-leading cabin comfort, with award-winning seating and interior design.

“Our award-winning G500 and G600 continue to demonstrate impressive performance,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “This achievement is a result of the strong demand and high flight activity we’re seeing from customers around the world. Having exceeded 100,000 flight hours further reiterates the durability and dependability of the G500 and G600.”

The G500 can fly 5,300 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 4,500 nm at Mach 0.90 and the G600 can fly 6,600 nm at Mach 0.85 or 5,600 nm at Mach 0.90. Both aircraft have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925.

In May, the G600 received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for steep-approach operations, just months after the G500 obtained it. This authorization allows the fleet to access some of the world’s most challenging airports, giving operators even more convenience and flexibility.

With more than 260 aircraft in service today, the G500 and G600 fleet holds more than 90 city-pair speed records combined.

Inspired by the belief that aviation could fuel business growth, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. invented the first purpose-built business aircraft, the Gulfstream I, which first flew in 1958. Today, more than 3,000 aircraft are in service around the world. Together with parent company General Dynamics, Gulfstream consistently invests in the future, dedicating resources to researching and developing innovative new aircraft, technologies and services.

With a fleet that includes the super-midsize Gulfstream G280, the high-performing Gulfstream G650 and Gulfstream G650ER, and a next-generation family of aircraft including the all-new Gulfstream G400, the award-winning Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600, the flagship Gulfstream G700 and the ultralong-range Gulfstream G800, Gulfstream offers an aircraft for every mission. All are backed by Gulfstream’s Customer Support network and its worldwide team.
