Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that the FAA has certified the all-new Gulfstream G700. This certification allows for customer deliveries of the most spacious aircraft in business aviation.
The FAA certification of the G700 has confirmed two new performance enhancements, which provide customers with greater flexibility and airport accessibility. These enhancements include a balanced field length take-off distance of 5,995 feet and a landing distance of 3,150 feet (standard ISA day, sea level). Both of these figures are shorter than what was initially expected.
“We have completed the most rigorous certification program in company history with the G700,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “I’d like to thank our world-class team of flight test, certification and engineering professionals, along with the many others at Gulfstream who have contributed to this accomplishment. The G700 brings a new level of performance and cabin comfort to business aviation and is doing so while meeting the highest certification standards our industry has ever seen.”
In September 2023, Gulfstream announced a set of performance enhancements for the aircraft, including improvements in range, speed, and cabin altitude. The aircraft’s range has been increased to 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nm at Mach 0.90, which is 250 nm better than the original projections at both speeds. The maximum operating speed of the aircraft has also been increased from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.935, making it the fastest aircraft in the Gulfstream stable.
Gulfstream has recently announced that along with the increase in range and speed, the cabin altitude of G700 has been reduced further to 2,840 ft. This makes it the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation, flying at 41,000 ft. This reduction provides more comfort to passengers. The cabin also offers whisper-quiet noise levels, 20 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, and 100% fresh air that is never recirculated.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to the FAA G700 certification team for their support,” said Burns. “On behalf of Gulfstream’s more than 20,000 employees worldwide, I am proud and excited to begin our G700 customer deliveries.”
