Piper M700 FURY Certification by UK CAA



Piper Aircraft has obtained type certification from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) for the, which includes approval for Flight into Known Icing (FIKI). This certification facilitates deliveries to the UK, with the first delivery planned for this month.

The M700 FURY, Piper's quickest single-engine aircraft so far, features a top cruise speed of 301 knots and a maximum range of 1,424 nautical miles. Equipped with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 engine, this cabin-class turboprop delivers outstanding performance along with cutting-edge safety features, such as the HALO Safety System with Garmin Emergency Autoland.

The M700 FURY is crafted with safety and simplicity in mind, incorporating Garmin’s Electronic Stability Protection (ESP), SurfaceWatch™, and SafeTaxi® to boost pilot situational awareness. Autothrottle and Garmin PlaneSync™ simplify flight operations, making them more user-friendly for operators.

The UK CAA certification fulfils the final customer-committed certification promised at the start of the year. Piper is now pursuing further international certifications to support sales expansion into Mexico, Colombia, and Asian markets.

The Piper M700 FURY received certification in March 2024 and is equipped with the HALO Safety System, which includes Garmin Emergency Autoland. This groundbreaking system uses digital technology to safely land the aircraft at the nearest suitable airport if the pilot is unable to do so. The M700 FURY also features the G3000® avionics suite, which includes Autothrottle, Emergency Descent Mode, Electronic Stability Protection (ESP™), SurfaceWatch™, SafeTaxi®, and Garmin PlaneSync™, all aimed at enhancing the aircraft's safety. In addition to its advanced flight deck, the six-seat M700 FURY is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 700 SHP engine. It boasts a maximum cruise speed of 301 ktas/557 km/hr, a maximum range of 1,852 nm/3,430 km, and a standard useful load of 2,320 lbs/1,052 kg.
