The first Head of State multi-mission Global 7500 Delivered to Swiss Air Force

Bombardier Defence today marked the first public reveal of the Swiss Air Force's newly acquired Global 7500 multi-mission aircraft. This platform will be outfitted for transporting government and military personnel, as well as for emergency evacuation missions. Incorporating this next-generation platform into Armasuisse’s fleet will enhance transportation capacity and protection for government and military officials while providing an effective platform for essential humanitarian missions. Bombardier Defence delivered the Global 7500 aircraft to Armasuisse in December 2024, with the initial deployment by the Federal Air Transport Service scheduled for early 2025.

“The Global 7500 aircraft is a proven and versatile platform that has earned speed records, stood out as the highest performing in its class and has quickly become a customer favourite,” said Stephane Leroy, Vice-President of Sales. “Armasuisse’s aircraft represents a significant milestone for Bombardier Defense, as it is the first Global 7500 configured for head-of-state multi-mission needs. We are proud to have the trust of Armasuisse, and to support them with critical transportation and emergency evacuation missions.”

Samuel Fuhrimann, the project manager at Armasuisse, stated that the partnership between Bombardier and Armasuisse has been outstanding. The project aligns with the contractual requirements, timeline, and quality standards. The installation of the self-protection system is also planned to proceed on schedule in the latter half of 2025.

With a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a range of 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 km), the Global 7500 enables customers to travel longer distances more quickly. The aircraft features the Smooth Flĕx Wing, which acts as an in-air shock absorber, providing exceptional lift during takeoff and landing. This enhances aerodynamic efficiency and performance, improves safety, and offers the smoothest ride in the industry, increasing productivity for officials and ensuring comfortable transport for evacuation missions. Additionally, it reduces fuel consumption, lowers emissions, and delivers outstanding short-field and high-speed performance.

Since entering service in December 2018, the Global 7500 business aircraft have demonstrated top performance in its class, with a fleet dispatch reliability exceeding 99.8%. Additionally, the Global 7500 has established more speed records than any other aircraft in its category, having recently completed over 75 speed-record missions on various important routes.

In addition to delivering outstanding aircraft, Bombardier Defence offers dedicated in-house engineering and support teams that are available around the clock globally. These teams can also implement modifications customized to meet customer requirements, with full certification capabilities spanning civilian, military, and hybrid operations. Bombardier leverages decades of experience collaborating with special mission operators and renowned mission systems integrators to adapt its reliable platform for crucial operations worldwide.
