Diamond Aircraft and Trakka Systems, a pioneer in advanced multispectral imaging solutions, recently collaborated on a successful demonstration of Trakka's new long-range TC-375 EO/IR imager integrated into a Diamond DA62 MPP aircraft. The week-long mission yielded exceptional results, showcasing the system's capabilities in Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Search and Rescue (SAR) applications.
This collaboration builds upon a seven-year partnership between Diamond Aircraft and Trakka. Diamond Aircraft is renowned for its commitment to safety, performance, and efficiency and has served as both an integrator and an OEM for Trakka's advanced imaging systems. This successful demonstration further strengthens their collaborative efforts to push the boundaries of aerial technology.
The TC-375 EO/IR imager is a state-of-the-art multispectral imaging system that provides exceptional image clarity and situational awareness in diverse environments. This long-range and gyro-stabilized system features full HD (1080p) resolution for both integrated EO and IR sensors, enabling operators to obtain clear and highly detailed imagery in daylight, low light, complete darkness, and even in degraded atmospheric conditions such as fog, haze, and smoke.
The system features long-range optics that offer uninterrupted and continuous zoom, further improved by the next-generation image processing engine. This powerful combination provides two key advantages to users: maximum stand-off range and the ability to significantly enhance imagery. Additionally, users can blend the EO and IR channels to reveal hidden details at any distance.
"The mission tests with Diamond Aircraft were highly successful," said Adam Boniecki, European Sales Manager at Trakka Systems. "The TC-375 performed exceptionally well, delivering clear and actionable imagery for ISR and SAR operations. The TC-375's exceptional performance and ITAR-free single LRU design make it an ideal choice for the DA62 MPP platform. We are excited to continue collaborating with Diamond Aircraft and explore further collaboration in the future."
Markus Fischer, Director of the Special Mission Division of Diamond Aircraft Austria, added, "Aside from our long-term relationship, Diamond's operators were impressed by the TC-375's capabilities, including the longest continuous IR zoom and easy upgrade potential for existing Trakka customers. The seamless integration, indicative of simple operation and efficient maintenance, convinced us that the TC-375 positions us as a significant player in the market."
The successful demonstration of Trakka's imaging solutions on Diamond Aircraft's versatile and reliable TC-375 aircraft highlights their synergy.
The DA62 MPP is the latest variant of Diamond Aircraft’s successful Special Mission Aircraft portfolio. The all-carbon-fibre, twin-engine aircraft has a state-of-the-art glass cockpit and a fully integrated autopilot. It is powered by two turbocharged jet-fuel engines with superb fuel efficiency. The carbon fibre material provides unlimited airframe life and is not subject to corrosion, even when operated in saline and humid environments. Fuel efficiency and the unlimited airframe life combine for extremely low direct operating costs, making the DA62 MPP the most cost-efficient Special Mission Aircraft.
Like no other special mission aircraft supplier, Diamond Aircraft has taken its special mission concept into a 360° turnkey solution: one single point of contact. The special mission turnkey solutions comprise a cost-efficient fixed-wing remote sensing Diamond Aircraft platform, airborne sensors, data links, ground stations, global support, spare parts, tooling, transport, and the corresponding pilot, operator and maintenance training.
